Lamborghini Sets 2007 Production Record

2007 GallardoAutomobili Lamborghini has already achieved a new production record in the first month of 2007. The Lamborghini Gallardo number 5000 has rolled off the production line at the house of Sant’Agata Bolognese. This unbeleivable achievement builds on the previous production record realised at the end of December 2006, with the delivery of 2087 vehicles during one year.

It is true that the current line-up may have difficulty scaling speed bumps without grazing their front splitters, but back in 1986 Lamborghini launched the LM002, a hideous Hummer-style off-roader packing a 420bhp V12.

Gallardo Wins Golden Key Award

Lamborghini GallardoThe Lamborghini Gallardo was given a significant award in Canada. The editors of the reference book „L’Annuel de l’automobile 2005“ have named the Gallardo as a winner of its prestigious „Golden Key Award“.

The eight members of the jury, who are all contributing editors for the publication, voted for the Gallardo as the best sportscar in the over $100,000 category, after taking into consideration criteria such as design, performance, comfort, handling and price-quality ratio.

LM002The Lamborghini LM002 is an SUV that was built by the Lamborghini automobile company between 1986 and 1993. This was an unusual departure for Lamborghini who, until that point was mostly known for high-performance grand tourers and supercars originally began in 1977 with a prototype vehicle codenamed the “Cheetah” which Lamborghini had designed in hopes of selling it to the US military.
