The long standing Italian car event, Le Belle Macchina d’Italia, which occurs every year at the Pocono mountain retreat, Skytop Inn, will feature the Islero as their honored Lamborghini model in 2007. Jim Kaminski, president of the Lamborghini Owner’s Club and also an Islero owner, is challenging people to get 5 Isleros to attend.
A year after the world saw the Murcielago at Frankfurt, Lamborghini has taken the next logical step towards a roadster version. While the Murcielago Barchetta was still in a conceptual form, it was sent into production version at the Geneva Motor Show in 2002.
What sets the Barchetta apart from its coupe counterpart is a number of aggressive styling elements including wheels and a new engine cover. Lamborghini hints this new styling may reflect the future of their design language still headed by Luc Donkerwolke.
What we have here are the first truly defined pictures of the next Lamborghini Gallardo. Its radical bodywork and huge air intakes only hint at what’s new underneath the neon paint. As the Audi R8 is ready to be shown off at Paris with version of the Gallardo’s own chassis, it’s only natural to offer the Lambo with more power and further separate the two in the marketplace.
