A couple years back, Ferrari pledged to all of its customers, to have a new product every year. It seemed like a tall order at the time for a company with a three or four-model line-up. But a new model here, a convertible version there, and the Prancing Horse has been more or less keeping on that track, often even giving us two new additions to the stable in a given year.
Italian high-performance sports car maker Lamborghini has been considering options to bost public awareness of its exclusive brand, which includes a chain of merchandise stores, Chief Executive Stephan Winkelmann said. Lamborghini has in the past partnered up with Nokia and fashion house Versace to promote its brand, but has yet to follow the example of larger rival Ferrari by opening stores selling T-shirts and other items that show off its charging-bull logo.
We have to be honest and say that we do not know much about this car, which is being called the Lamborghini Alar 777. Apparently an Argentinian by the name of Joan Ferci has somehow acquired exclusive rights to build custom Lamborghinis that have retained the Italian marque’s historic name and feature an official badge of the raging bull on the front end.
Lamborghini has been on a roll these days. It had a record year last year with 2,087 units sold. It introduced special editions of the Murcielago and Gallardo, as well as upgraded the “regular” Murci to LP640 status. A roadster version of the LP640 was a no-brainer and showed up soon after. They also let slip that a super lightweight version of the bread-and-butter Gallardo would be debuting in Geneva.
