Lamborghini Hopes To Turn Heads With New SV
When it came to building the SV – Lamborghini wanted it to be perfect. This means lots of power, great handling and performance, and the ability to make it lighter than most vehicles that it has created. That is what sets it apart from every other sports cars on the market.
Lamborghini chose to focus on the interior of the SV first when shedding off those extra pounds.. The inner door skins, the seat shells and the centre tunnel will all be made of carbon fiber. The current leather-lined door panel will be replaced by one piece of die-cast carbon with a pull strap for a door handle. All together this will help to save 2kg per door.
Taking away the front differential and driveshafts will help save Lamborghini more than 40kg. The electronic systems to raise and lower the spoiler, air intakes and front end will also go, and Lamborghini is almost certain to offer two carbon fiber rear wings.
The welded-tube steel chassis is a more difficult process when it comes to shaving the weight down. It is probably the heaviest part of the vehicle. You can expect to see brand new alloy rims that were created especially for the SV and will save about 6kg per corner. All together the SV will save almost 130kg in weight.
It will be built with a 6.5 litre V12. As much as 680bhp is possible - along with 516lb ft of torque. We are all crossing our fingers and hoping that it will be as good as Lamborghini is bragging about.
